Anna Calvi, the London-based songwriter and virtuosic guitarist, released her last studio album Hunter in 2018. It was her most truthful record yet, exploring gender, desire and control and marked her third consecutive Mercury Prize Album of the Year nomination, the only solo artist to achieve this feat. Hunter followed her previous albums One Breath (2013) and Anna Calvi (2011), the latter of which saw her nominated for British Breakthrough Act at The Brit Awards in 2012.
Calvi has collaborated with the likes of David Byrne, Courtney Barnett, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joe Talbot (IDLES), Marianne Faithfull and Julia Holter; has fans in the likes of Brian Eno (who called her “the best thing since Patti Smith” and added backing vocals to her first LP), Nick Cave and David Lynch.
Most recently, Calvi composed the original score for Peaky Blinders seasons 5 and 6.
