James Biggins

James Biggins is a singer/songwriter and Musician from a village in Co. Mayo called The Neale. James always had a musical gift from a young age however his honesty will tell you that shyness held him back for several years in pursuing music as a career. Once he had completed secondary school while employed at a local sawmill, James decided now is the time to explore music and with that he learned how to play a six-string guitar. From there James entered the live music performance scene locally and initially performed cover songs of favorite artists.

James always struggled expressing his emotions and gracefully discovered journalling initially which guided him to lyric writing and songs. James and his backing band “The Meerkatz” have released three original singles throughout 2025. James wishes to record and release his debut album in 2026.

James has been influenced musically from artists such as Don Williams, Alan Jackson, The Dubliners, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and many more. James’s music blends a contrast between rock and folk while his lyrics courageously represent his life experiences including grief, love, heartbreak and egoic mind patterns and behaviours.
