Pete Higgins
Pete Higgins is an acoustic artist from Boyle, Co. Roscommon whose intimate, atmospheric performances draw comparisons to Bon Iver, Damien Rice, and Ben Howard. Working with fingerpicked guitar and alternate tunings, he creates spacious, textured arrangements where subtle percussive elements and delicate melodic phrasing give each song a strong sense of place and atmosphere.
His songs explore themes of love, family, fatherhood, and the quiet weight of everyday moments. His latest release, The Stars Waited for the Dark, is a four-song collection that showcases his thoughtful songwriting and understated emotional depth.
Performing alongside a percussionist, Higgins brings a dynamic yet restrained presence to the stage. His appearance at this year’s Night and Day Festival marks a meaningful return to the Lough Key Forest Park, where he previously performed at a music festival in 2002 — closing a circle between past and present.
